Job ID: 20069 Benefits Offering Unionized Position Company events Health & Dental Benefits Employee Assistance Program Employer RRSP match Competitive Time Off Policy Compensation $29-$42 per hour depending on experience Position Summary Reporting to the Signal Superintendent or Foreman, the Signalman performs all necessary signal installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required. We are looking for candidates that have all ranges of railway signaling experience from Signal Assistants, Signalman, Signal Maintainers, and Signals Foreman. Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties Perform general labour tasks as necessary. Assist in ground work installations, wiring & testing. Maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition. Perform all periodic inspection and tests as per railway and PNR standards. Comply with railway and PNR safe work practices and signal work procedures. Perform all administrative duties related to proper documentation as per PNR Quality Management System. Required Skills and Qualifications 1-3 years of Signalman experience Experience working on a variety of different environments such as commuter rail, transit and LRT Completion of a post-secondary degree in Electronic Technology or Electronic Technician diploma Valid driver’s license with clean abstract Understanding of various signaling systems. Ability to read, interpret and comprehend drawings and specifications and contract documents Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Work is outdoors in all weather conditions Exposure to live track/trains and high voltage Work is safety sensitive and protective equipment is required Travel to work sites is required.
