PODA Empowers Students with New Skills

PODA in collaboration with university of Chakwal organized 4-day training on Olive value addition products from May 13 to 16 and held certificate awarding ceremony on Monday 20 May 2024. A group of 25 female students learned how to make olive soap, cosmetics and learned about the nutritional value of olive and olive oil. Mr. Ramazan Ali from BARI and Mr. Shahid Hanif from SAWCRI also spoke and appreciated PODA’s efforts for empowering rural women. Ms. Farzana Ashraf of PODA shared that PODA team and community members received training from Olive Culture Italian Corporation in 2023 and now we are replicating this knowledge with students and rural youth. Ms. Naheeda Abbasi said young women and men also need to learn about financial literacy, business planning, saving, investing and strategic growth. Ms. Sameena Nazir said knowledge needs practice and repetition leads to expertise. She thanked the university and Olive Culture for providing opportunity.
