Résumé du poste

About the role Project North PES is Pangeo's new aluminum die casting and machining plant in Vaughan, Ontario. As the plant's HR Generalist, you run day-to-day HR for the site and help build the function from the ground up, working closely with the HR & Admin Manager. This is a zero-to-one, hands-on role with real independence. You'll own recruitment through to hire, onboarding and training, records and performance administration, and front-line employee relations, and you'll help put in place the processes a new plant needs. It suits someone who takes initiative, works independently, and is comfortable building as they go. Responsibilities Recruitment and onboarding Run recruitment for open roles independently: source, organize, and screen candidates, hold initial conversations, recommend who advances, and track candidates through to start. Own new hire onboarding and orientation, and coordinate pre-role and in-role training with department managers. Records, training, and performance Maintain employee files, training records, attendance, and leave in line with privacy requirements, and prepare related reports for payroll. Administer performance management cycles and keep training completion current for compliance and audit. Employee relations Act as the front-line point of contact for employees on HR policies, benefits, and procedures. Stay attuned to employee sentiment, flag and escalate concerns to the HR & Admin Manager and functional managers, and track them to resolution. Keep all HR practices compliant with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, and AODA. Build the function and culture Help inspire a cohesive, mutually trusting, and entrepreneurial team of diverse individuals to deliver market leading solutions for our customers. Help stand up HR processes, templates, and habits for the new plant, and improve them as you go. What we're looking for Initiative and independence. You own your work and move things forward without waiting to be asked. Builder's mindset. You are comfortable creating structure where none exists yet. Organization. You keep many moving pieces, from candidates to files to training, accurate and on time. People sense. You read employee dynamics and handle concerns with tact and discretion. Communication. You are clear and professional with employees and managers alike. Qualifications 3 to 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP, or working toward CHRP or CHRL, an asset. Working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Human Rights Code. Full-cycle recruitment and onboarding experience, with the ability to work independently. HRIS or applicant tracking systems and Microsoft 365 proficiency. Awareness of ISO 14001 environmental management an asset. English required, Mandarin an asset. Illustrative KPIs Examples of how success is measured in this role: Recruitment: candidates screened and roles filled against plan.
