Are you an experienced fencing professional who enjoys leading by example? We're looking for a Site Foreman to lead our fencing crews while remaining actively involved in the work. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll supervise daily operations, assist with fence installation, mentor crew members, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. If you're a strong leader who takes pride in quality workmanship and isn't afraid to get your hands dirty, we'd love to hear from you. We use AI-assisted tools to help identify and match applicants to our open roles. This may include reviewing resumes and suggesting potential matches. All final hiring decisions are made by humans. Position Summary The Site Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day execution of fencing projects in the field. Reporting to the Project Supervisor, you'll lead and coordinate the crew, assign daily tasks, operate heavy equipment, and work alongside your team to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to company standards. This is a working leadership position—not a supervisory role from the sidelines. You'll be expected to actively contribute in the field while providing guidance, coaching, and support to your crew. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily crew activities Assign tasks and manage workflow to maximize productivity. Execute fencing work according to project plans and specifications. Assist with the installation of wood, chain link, silt, and other fencing systems as required. Operate hand and power tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Perform digging, post setting, measuring, layout, and other skilled labour as required. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company safety policies. Enforce proper PPE usage and safe work practices. Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure company standards are met. Train, mentor, and support crew members. Communicate project updates, material needs, and site issues to the Project Supervisor. Track daily production, labour hours, and project progress. Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites. Troubleshoot field issues and make sound day-to-day operational decisions. What Success Looks Like Safe, productive, and organized job sites. Projects completed on schedule and to quality standards. Crews that are motivated, engaged, and well supported. Strong communication with project management. Consistent hands-on leadership and teamwork. Previous experience leading fencing, construction, landscaping, excavation, or related crews, with responsibility for assigning tasks based on employee abilities, managing workflow, training crew members, keeping crews productive, resolving day-to-day issues, and delivering job-site results. Strong hands-on experience with fence installation and construction tools, including power tools, hand tools, saws, drills, and other fencing or construction tools. Clear communication skills, with the ability to communicate project progress, material requirements, delays, safety concerns, site issues, crew requirements, and completion status to Project Supervisors, crew members, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and clients on active job sites. Ability to read and execute project plans and specifications, measure fence lines, perform layout, determine post spacing, plan gate layout, check grades and elevations, calculate materials, and work around existing structures or utilities. Commitment to workplace safety, including PPE use, hazard awareness, safe equipment operation, working around utilities, safe digging practices, and incident reporting. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of fencing, construction, landscaping, or related experience. Previous crew leader, foreperson, or supervisory experience in fencing, construction, landscaping, excavation, or related field work. Direct experience installing wood, chain link, silt, commercial, industrial, agricultural, security, or temporary fencing, including gates, posts, fence panels, layout, and installation. Experience safely operating skid steers, mini excavators, excavators, augers or post-hole equipment, Bobcats, loaders, compactors, concrete equipment, or other fencing and construction equipment. Strong understanding of safe work practices and equipment operation. Valid driver's license (AR license considered an asset).
