EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT YOUNGSTOWN SCHOOL Competition #PLSD-2256 This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. July 21, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to provide support to students in Grades 1 through 12 within an inclusive learning environment. Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals, the successful candidate will help foster a supportive, engaging, and student-centered environment that promotes learning, independence, and overall student success. In addition to providing classroom support, this position includes responsibility for assisting with the planning, organization, and day-to-day delivery of the school's nutrition program, including food preparation, distribution, inventory, and maintaining applicable health and safety standards. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are essential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the educational experience and well-being of students. This is a temporary part-time (0.65 FTE) position commencing on the first day of the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be scheduled to work approximately 19.5 hours per week. Responsibilities may include providing personal care and supporting students with educational, social, behavioral, communication, and physical needs throughout the school day, while also assisting with the operation of the school's nutrition program. Preference will be given to applicants with post-secondary training in Special Education, Educational Assistant studies, Early Childhood Education, Nutrition, Food Services, or a related field. Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs and developmental disabilities, along with experience in food preparation or school nutrition programs, is considered an asset.
