The Assistant Team Leader, Night Operations provides visible Leadership to the Night Team and sets the tone for a store culture that consistently upholds operational and merchandising standards, while maintaining a safe, organized and efficient warehouse. They coach, motivate and develop Team Members in the moment, and support the Team Leader in achieving operational excellence. Hours of work will generally be 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Your Accountabilties Will Include Provides Leadership in line with our values to Team Members, to uphold Royal Service and set the tone for a well-merchandised customer-ready store Sets the standard for operational and merchandising excellence, ensuring the store meets financial targets in preparation for an exceptional customer experience Collaborates with the Team Leader to translate the store playbook and warehouse metrics into actionable plans for the Team Ensures weekly category audits are completed, verifying compliance with merchandising standards, section maintenance, event set up and seasonal changes Coaches Team Leader Trainees and Team Members in real time; sets expectations to guide the Night Team on best practices in merchandising strategies Oversees replenishment, inventory allocation, freight, price accuracy and key metrics, while ensuring policies and guidelines are followed to support an exceptional customer experience Ensures the Night Team adheres to training protocols for merchandising standards and product knowledge Supports the Team Leader in creating a memorable Team Member experience; leads energizing and engaging start-up meetings, provides thoughtful feedback and timely follow-up, fosters growth through meaningful development opportunities and participates in recruitment process as needed to offer insight and training, ensuring new hires align with our values Supports clear communication between Team Members and the Leadership Team; ensures consistent messaging within their area, shares observations with Service Leaders, coordinates daily and weekly priorities through clear task planning, and actively engages the team to foster collaboration and accountability Ensures compliance with all standard operating procedures, company policies and guidelines, health and safety procedures, and loss prevention protocols. Identifies, communicates and responds to any risks or violations in accordance with established procedures Opens and closes store as required and supports the Leadership Team in completion of other tasks as needed A Few Other Things We're Looking For High school diploma, GED or equivalent Post-secondary education, or certification in a related field considered an asset Minimum 2 Years progressive leadership experience in retail; experience leading in other industries also considered. Strong leadership skills; ability to provide vision and direction, coach, motivate and develop a Team. Ability to train and demonstrate commitment to ongoing training and coaching, both personally and for others Elevated understanding of inventory management and budgeting process Strong and effective merchandising skills Ability to work collaboratively and foster cooperation with others Strong People and Customer Service Orientation (Royal Service), demonstrating enthusiasm and an approachable demeanor. Community- focused mindset, committed to contributing positively to the team and the wider community. Ability to communicate strong product knowledge and eagerness to continue learning Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong computer skills; ability to learn and use new technology Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment Creative and strategic thinker; ability to plan and execute to achieve goals. Self-starter; takes initiative and works well with minimal direction Excellent communication skills Emergency First Aid Certification (or willingness to become certified) Forklift/Pump Truck Certification (or willingness to become certified) What’s in it for you? Provides leadership to the night team to maintain operational and merchandising standards while ensuring a safe and efficient warehouse. Oversees replenishment, inventory allocation, and team development to ensure the store is customer-ready.
Exigences
Requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years of progressive leadership experience in retail or related industries. Candidates should possess strong merchandising skills and be willing to obtain First Aid and Forklift certifications.
