About the Role: The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) - Front Desk plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a medical office by serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for managing patient intake, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records, thereby facilitating efficient clinical workflows. The MOA at the front desk acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and a welcoming environment. Additionally, this role involves handling administrative tasks such as billing, insurance verification, and managing correspondence to support the overall functionality of the office. Ultimately, the MOA contributes to delivering high-quality patient care by combining administrative expertise with compassionate customer service in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Minimum Qualifications: * Completion of a Medical Office Assistant diploma or certificate program recognized in Canada. * Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office). * Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. * Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy legislation such as PHIPA or PIPEDA. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience working as a Medical Office Assistant or in a front desk role within a healthcare setting. * Familiarity with scheduling software and telehealth platforms.
