Résumé du poste
SIRIUS INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS INC. For a complete position description, please visit :Vice President, Engineering THE ORGANIZATION Sirius designs and manufactures chemical injection systems and instrumentation packages for upstream and midstream oil and gas operators. Their equipment runs in some of the harshest production environments in the world - Western Canada, the Permian, and increasingly the Middle East, Africa and Latin America - where precision matters and downtime costs money. Sirius is a private equity-backed manufacturer in a high-growth phase. Since acquisition, the company has invested in the systems, processes, and people needed to operate at scale: ERP modernization, PLM implementation, international expansion, and product line investment are all in motion. Engineering sits at the center of that agenda. Sirius’s Core Values define their culture, drive their work, and guide their commitment to excellence. They are the operating standard for every member of the engineering team - and the Vice President, Engineering is expected to model and reinforce them. For more information on Sirius Instrumentation & Controls, please visit their website at: https://www.siriuscontrols.com/. THE OPPORTUNITY The Vice President, Engineering leads the company’s engineering function - mechanical, electrical, and firmware - across new product development, sustaining engineering, and engineering change management. The role reports to the President & CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team. This is a hands-on operating role with a strategic mandate. The successful candidate steps into a department with active product programs in flight, an engineering team positioned to scale, and a clear set of expectations: deliver the current portfolio to commitment, build the engineering processes and KPIs that a scaling manufacturer requires, lead engineering’s contribution to the company’s product lifecycle management (PLM) and ERP integration, and develop the team, including identifying and developing a successor. The work is technical, the standards are high, and the culture is grounded in three values that show up in how the team operates every day: continuous innovation, integrity, and collaboration. The Vice President, Engineering is expected to lead by those values and reinforce them across the function. RESPONSIBILITIES In support of the organization's strategic objectives, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following key responsibilities: Engineering Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a cross-disciplinary engineering team - currently six engineers across mechanical, electrical, and firmware - with a clear expectation to scale the team in line with product program growth and operational footprint. Develop a clear succession bench, including identification, development, and demonstrated readiness of a #2. Build and lead an engineering culture aligned with Sirius's values: continuous innovation in product and process, integrity in commitments delivered, and collaboration across functions and disciplines. Product Strategy & Development Own the full product development lifecycle: concept, design, prototyping, validation, certification, launch, sustaining engineering, and end-of-life management. Improve products in production as candidates for continued development, leading second- and third-generation iterations that improves functionality, reduce cost of goods, improve manufacturability, and add functionality customers are asking for. Drive product reliability, manufacturability, and cost reduction across the active portfolio. Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the engineering strategy and long-term product roadmap aligned with business objectives and market opportunities. Engineering Operations & Performance Lead the company's PLM implementation, including BOM data integrity, item master discipline, change control, and engineering data integration into the ERP environment as that migration progresses. Establish engineering KPIs and operating cadence: NPI cycle time, engineering change order velocity, design-for-manufacturing discipline, and gross margin contribution from new and improved products. Implement disciplined engineering governance, including design reviews, stage-gate processes, engineering documentation, and technical risk management. Drive operational excellence through standardized engineering processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and data-driven decision making. Technical Excellence & Regulatory Compliance Ensure engineering standards, technical documentation, and product validation processes support regulatory compliance, quality, and long-term product reliability. Evaluate emerging technologies, engineering methods, and product innovations that strengthen Sirius's competitive advantage. Executive Leadership & Business Contribution Represent the engineering function in management, board, and investor reviews. Contribute as a key member of the senior leadership team, supporting strategic planning, capital investment decisions, and organizational growth initiatives. Lead engineering resource planning, budgeting, and prioritization to maximize engineering capacity and business value. Communicate engineering priorities, progress, risks, and opportunities with clarity to executive leadership and key stakeholders. MEASURES OF SUCCESS Develop and execute the 2027 Engineering Business Plan, in partnership with the CEO, successfully delivering the agreed-upon strategic priorities and business objectives by the end of 2027. Retain, develop, and motivate the engineering team to deliver the year one goals and operational objectives while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. Develop a deep understanding of Sirius's products, customers, and competitive strengths to successfully lead future product innovation and engineering strategy.
