Learn more about us: 👉 https://workdifferently.info/ About the Role We're looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Co-op Student to join our Research & Development team for a 16-week work term. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience while working on real operational projects that improve our products, processes, and manufacturing capabilities. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to help plan, coordinate, and execute projects that have a meaningful impact on our business. You'll gain exposure to project management, engineering problem-solving, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement while building practical experience that extends far beyond the classroom. What You'll Do Collaborate with engineers, team members, and stakeholders to identify and deliver operational projects. Assist with planning, executing, and monitoring project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Track project schedules, identify potential risks, and help keep projects on schedule. Determine the resources required to successfully complete engineering projects. Communicate project progress, challenges, and outcomes to team members and stakeholders. Assist with engineering documentation, reporting, and process improvements. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Gain hands-on experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment. What You Need (Required Qualifications) Education Currently enrolled in an Engineering program (Mechanical Engineering preferred) that includes a co-op work term. Experience Academic or project experience demonstrating engineering problem-solving, teamwork, and project coordination. Technical Skills Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Certifications / Licences None required. Other Requirements Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Must be enrolled in a recognized co-op program. Willingness to relocate to Sydney, Nova Scotia for the duration of the work term. Ability to work on-site during regular day shift hours. What Would Be Considered an Asset (Nice-to-Have Qualifications) Mechanical Engineering background. Previous engineering, manufacturing, or co-op experience. Experience coordinating projects or working with project management principles. Familiarity with CAD software or engineering design tools. Strong leadership and collaboration skills. Interest in manufacturing, product development, or continuous improvement. Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take ownership of projects. Interest in pursuing full-time, permanent employment after graduation. What Success Looks Like By the end of your co-op term, you will: Successfully contribute to operational engineering projects from planning through execution. Develop strong working relationships with engineers, manufacturing teams, and business stakeholders. Gain practical experience managing timelines, coordinating resources, and solving engineering challenges. The co-op student will collaborate with engineers and software developers to identify and deliver operational projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities include planning project scope, tracking timelines, and communicating progress and results.

Candidates must be currently enrolled in an Engineering program at Dalhousie University with a co-op requirement, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering. Strong organizational skills and a willingness to relocate to Sydney, NS are required.
