Job Code: 26682 Status: Temporary Full Time (Up to 10 months) Location: Providence Manor Union: Non-Union Wage: $45.06 - $53.02/hr Posting Period: August 27, 2026 - September 2, 2026 Working under the direction of the Administrator, and in collaboration with the Director/Assistant Directors of Care and educational partners, the Long-term Care Learning Specialist, Quality Coordinator assists clinical and other house staff in preparing for contemporary practice through the provision of education, professional development and quality improvement activities. The Long-term Care Learning Specialist, Quality Coordinator supports staff to acquire and maintain core competencies, knowledge and skills reflective of the most current evidence-informed care and service. The Long-term Care Learning Specialist, Quality Coordinator will promote training and development to individual staff members’ professional accountability for reflective practice and self-directed learning plans. The Long-term Care Learning Specialist, Quality Coordinator will ensure that educational, professional practice and quality improvement activities reflect the Mission, Vision and Values, strategic direction, goals and priorities of Providence Care. Skills And Qualifications Required Baccalaureate in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience of practice and experience in a similar role Current unrestricted registration to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario Degree, diploma or Certificate in Adult Education or minimum of five years’ experience in leading quality improvement activities and teaching adults in a health-related field and/or environment. Minimum of five years’ experience in varied and relevant and clinical areas providing direct care. Other relevant certifications including current ACLS and First Aid Public speaking in front of audiences ranging in size from one individual to numbers in the hundreds. Experience in using quality improvement tools and methodologies in leading improvement and change initiatives Position Responsibilities Works in collaboration with the Director/Assistant Director of Care to: advance professional nursing competencies based on the College of Nurses of Ontario and best practice standards through implementation and education of best practice approach develop and deliver evidence-informed education material, ensuring knowledge transfer into educational plans Ensures education is organized and consistent with the competencies of the audience staff group, i.e. Nursing, Facilities, FANS, Allied, Recreation etc. Presents and facilitates educational programs and in-services and evaluates these activities after each session and annually in accordance with Ministry requirements. Contributes to the development, coordinates and implements a competency based inter-professional orientation program, as well as ongoing educational opportunities and quality improvement programs and services in the Home. Integrates diverse and inclusive concepts into current clinical and service practices. Serves as a formal and informal resource by assisting staff in identifying individual and cohort learning needs and suitable internal/external resources to meet those needs.
