Our client is seeking a Project Leader – New Product Development to oversee cross-functional engineering initiatives from initial concept through product launch. Reporting to the Project Management Supervisor, this role is responsible for managing new product development and product improvement projects while coordinating activities between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution. Key Responsibilities Lead assigned new product development and product enhancement projects from project initiation through completion. Establish project plans, timelines, resource requirements, cost considerations, and risk mitigation strategies. Track project progress, key milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure objectives are achieved. Coordinate collaboration between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, and Service teams. Facilitate project meetings, follow up on action items, and provide clear updates to stakeholders. Support project reviews, technical discussions, testing activities, validation processes, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams during prototype development, product trials, and transition into production. Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, reports, meeting records, and project-related deliverables. Ensure adherence to established project management practices, documentation standards, change management processes, and safety requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on project efficiency, product performance, and operational effectiveness. Profile Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering projects, preferably within product development environments. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is considered an asset. PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM certification is an asset. Strong French communication skills required; bilingual English/French preferred. Excellent project management, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with Lean principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to interpret technical drawings and collaborate with CAD-based design processes (SolidWorks experience required; AutoCAD an asset). Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft 365 tools, including MS Project, is an asset. Conditions & Benefits Hybrid work environment (3 days in office / 2 days remote).
