Description The PM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules. Truck Parker moves courier vehicles in and out of the warehouse and parks them as required. Hours of work: Saturday to Wednesday, Saturday 2pm to 6pm, Sunday to Wednesday 5pm to 9pm, 20 hours per week Starting Wage $23.63, top rate $29.23 Responsibilities Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery. Education Specialized education is not required. Must have a valid Class 5 B.C. license Must have no more than four (4) points on a valid Class 5 B.C. drivers license (abstract required) Must successfully pass the Defensive Driving course Experience Specialized education is not required. No experience necessary. Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
