Job Overview Reporting to the Design Manager, as the Truss Designer you will prepare truss layouts, designs and estimates for various building projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: * Structural design and providing estimates for roof and/or floor truss systems as well as Engineered Wood Product (I-joists, LVL) floor systems and individual components according to specifications and requirements. * Implementing design changes and communicating with other related departments to ensure designs & estimates are accurate. * Promoting a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with Qualico’s Safety Program, policies and procedures. * Providing technical support to customers when required. * Providing support to other projects or duties as assigned. Essential Requirements * Post-secondary education, experience or technical training courses in Architecture, Engineering or Drafting. * Previous experience with Truss or building component design. * Experience with Mitek truss design software is preferred. * Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. * Satisfactory verification of criminal record check. * Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint and Excel). Working Conditions You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may be required.
