About the Role RAM Consulting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support a significant underground infrastructure project. Working as part of the construction management team, you will play a key role in establishing and implementing maintenance systems, processes, and reliability programs that support critical shaft excavation and tunneling operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role will focus on developing a proactive maintenance culture that improves equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports the safe and efficient operation of specialized tunneling and heavy construction equipment. What You'll Be Working On Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs Supporting maintenance planning and scheduling activities for critical project equipment Establishing maintenance management systems, work order processes, and equipment tracking programs Performing equipment criticality assessments and reliability evaluations Managing maintenance history records and performance reporting Supporting spare parts planning and inventory strategies Working closely with operations, construction, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability Identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve maintenance efficiency Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and reliability-focused maintenance practices Providing technical guidance related to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and mobile equipment systems What We're Looking For Mechanical Engineering degree, Engineering Technologist diploma, or equivalent maintenance and reliability experience 8+ years of experience supporting maintenance operations on major infrastructure, tunneling, mining, heavy civil, or industrial projects Experience developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, work order processes, and reliability-centered maintenance practices Experience supporting heavy construction equipment, mobile equipment, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical equipment Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced construction environments Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities Compensation & Benefits The estimated hourly (independent contractor) rate for this position is $85 - $105/HR as of the posting date. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training.
