About Us: We are a boutique law firm with offices in Vancouver, BC and Calgary, Alberta, practicing Aboriginal law exclusively for First Nations in western Canada. We represent First Nation communities in all areas of Aboriginal law, including litigation, regulatory law, Specific Claims, Indigenous law revitalization, governance and business development. Our comprehensive approach to providing legal and advisory services ensures that our advice is informed by both a broad and deep understanding of our clients’ objectives. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Lawyer for our Calgary office. We are looking for an Associate Lawyer with 1-4 years of experience, a background in litigation and a strong interest or experience in Aboriginal law and regulatory law. As an Associate Lawyer, you will play a critical role in representing and advising our clients, conducting legal research, and collaborating with our dedicated team of legal professionals in both the Calgary and Vancouver offices. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta or the Law Society of British Columbia. 1-4 years of legal experience, preferably with some experience in litigation. Experience or strong interest in Aboriginal law and regulatory law. Experience or strong interest in Indigenous law revitalization. Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to serving First Nations communities and understanding of cultural sensitivities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
