Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – 7-Month Contract We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant for a 7-month contract with our client in the manufacturing industry. This role is on site five days a week in North York. The successful candidate will independently handle daily accounting activities while contributing to the ERP migration from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to JD Edwards. Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash application, including processing invoices, applying customer payments and resolving transaction discrepancies. Complete month-end accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Support the ERP migration through master data cleanup, validation, module testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) and help improve accounting processes. Review financial information and investigate variances to support operational needs. Qualifications: Strong overall accounting and finance experience at a Senior Accountant, Senior Financial Analyst or similar level. Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA designation or progress toward it is an asset. 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including hands-on month-end close, reconciliations, AP, AR and cash application. ERP implementation or systems project exposure; Microsoft Dynamics NAV or JD Edwards experience is an asset. Ability to work across both operational and analytical finance activities. Proven ability to adapt quickly, work independently and take ownership with minimal supervision. Requires a degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance with over 5 years of progressive experience in senior accounting roles. Experience with ERP implementations and a CPA designation are considered assets.
