Détails du poste
Are you a strategic communicator who thrives on balancing creativity with analytics? Alberta FNIGC (Alberta First Nations Information Governance Centre) is a not-for-profit, First Nations-owned organisation dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advancing First Nations' Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession (OCAP®) principles, self-determination, and jurisdiction in research and information management. We partner with our Nation members to ensure free, prior, and informed consent is respected and that credible data remains under First Nations control. Based in Calgary or Edmonton, the successful candidate will plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns, manage digital communication channels, and coordinate communications initiatives across the organisation. What You Might Do In a Day… Develop, edit, and distribute written and visual content (blog posts, infographics, social media assets, newsletters, video scripts, event materials, press releases) that reflect our organisational voice and cultural values; Partner with internal teams to ensure messaging consistency and brand alignment across all platforms; Manage and grow presence across social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X) and digital channels to reach diverse audiences; Track campaign performance, analyse audience data, and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and reach; Plan and coordinate event logistics—from virtual webinars to in-person nation visits—and promote them to target communities; Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and Indigenous community leaders; Gather feedback and performance data; create reports, dashboards, and presentations with insights and recommendations. If this sounds like you… You care deeply about language precision and clear communication; You're comfortable taking the lead on projects whilst knowing when to collaborate and ask for input; You have a genuine interest in Indigenous governance, culture, and worldviews, and understand cultural sensitivities in communications; You balance creative vision with data-driven decision-making; You're comfortable travelling to remote communities and spending several nights away from home. And you bring… A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience); Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design/content tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or equivalent); Hands-on experience managing social media platforms and content management systems; Demonstrated experience creating content for diverse audiences, ideally with Indigenous communities or organisations; A valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle. This could be your next move. Alberta FNIGC is an equal-opportunities employer and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds. Priority consideration is given to candidates who self-identify as Canadian Indigenous, in accordance with the Canadian Human Rights Commission Aboriginal Employment Preferences Policy.
