About The Role We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work in Saint John, Canada. This is an on-site position supporting mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities. Compensation C$26-36/hr (CAD hourly) Rates vary based on experience level and project complexity. Emergency and after-hours work may qualify for premium rates. Engagement Type Contract/Freelance basis Flexible scheduling available Project-based or ongoing support Remote hands and smart hands services Key Responsibilities Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic) Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling Perform cross-connects and patch panel work Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues Document all work with photos and detailed notes Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams Data center or IT infrastructure experience Server hardware and networking knowledge Reliable and professional with strong communication Proximity to local data center facilities Flexible schedule for on-call/emergency work
