Our client, a leading GTA-based land development and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Stormwater Management Engineer out of their Markham office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position, with a salary range of 80-130k, depending on experience, including a competitive vacation and benefits package. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be using your technical abilities to undertake the preparation of servicing and stormwater management related studies through the planning process as well as stormwater management designs for land development projects during the draft plan and detailed design processes. You will provide technical leadership and supervisory duties to other designers/technicians. Other responsibilities include: Preparation of master and functional servicing studies in support of secondary plans, draft plans and site plans; Undertaking detailed studies and modeling associated with stormwater management facilities, low impact development measures, creek crossings and floodplain mapping and modifications for all types of land development projects; Writing reports and design briefs and pursuing approvals from agencies; Liaising with clients, conservation authorities and federal, provincial, regional and municipal agencies to review their needs or address comments with respect to servicing and stormwater management aspects of development projects during draft plan and detailed design stages; Ensuring that the projects’ schedule needs are met in a timely and effective manner and taking responsibility for the project budgets; and Actively managing junior staff. What we’re looking for from you: Being registered as a Professional Engineer or Civil Technologist in the Province of Ontario, or are eligible for registration; Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in servicing and stormwater management work related to land development engineering; Have a thorough understanding of the agency requirements and approval process throughout the GTA during draft plan and detailed design project stages related to servicing and stormwater management design requirements; Have strong working relationships with review agency staff and land development clients; Possess a strong working knowledge of various software for the design of SWM and channel facilities (e.g. Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS etc.); Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team of professionals to complete preliminary servicing and stormwater management studies and designs; Ability to work in a team environment providing direction and mentorship to junior staff; Must be self-motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills; and Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while providing unparalleled service to clients.
