farm equipment operator

Red River Forage is a family run hay and straw business near Morris MB. We are hiring for 2 additional positions as a general farm worker and equipment operator available to start right away. We are looking for someone who has farm equipment operating experience and/or also some intermediate mechanical abilities. Applicants must be willing to work long hours during the busy season up to 6 days a week during harvest (Sundays always off). The right applicant will receive ongoing job and skills training to help them succeed in their position. Applicants are expected to take responsibility for the equipment they will be operating and do basic maintenance and repairs to keep equipment in good running order. You will be well supported by a team of mechanics for any larger problems. Some level of resourcefulness and problem solving abilities will be expected. Job will consist of operating hay cutters, rakes, balers, bale wagons and telehandlers, repairs/maintenance and general farm duties. Class 1 semi truck license is an asset (which is paid more) Position will start right away and continue until ~November. Year round work is available for the right applicant. Qualifications:-Farm equipment operating experience (or other equipment operating experience) -Intermediate mechanical ability (oil changes, change alternator, basic wiring, etc) -Attention to detail -Integrity and helpfulness while working with RRF team members/farmers/customers/truck drivers, etc -Ability to take responsibility and initiative for specific tasks -Must be a natural problem solver and have a go-getter attitude -Gentle and safe with machinery -Ability to work long hours during harvest season -Expectations of long term employment -No smoking as our bales are flammable Total compensation is $28/hr. Other roles/responsibilities may be available for a higher wage.
