Our client is a well established national not-for-profit organization that represents and supports a highly regulated sector across Canada and they are looking for a Controller. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees the organization's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial processes while leading and supporting the Finance team. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six Finance professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and supportive work environment. Oversee the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and the successful completion of eight annual audits. Support the annual budgeting process and provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making. Manage financial service delivery for five key external clients, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payment processing, and monthly financial reporting while building strong client relationships. Strengthen and maintain internal controls, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, safeguarding company assets, and supporting compliance requirements. Review and approve payments, ensuring adherence to delegated authorities, segregation of duties, fraud prevention measures, and internal financial policies. Qualifications University degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics and a professional Canadian accounting designation (CPA) At least 10 years of experience in a similar financial role, with a focus on reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Experience managing and guiding a small team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Bilingual English & French is an asset Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software applications. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Comfortable communicating clearly and effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
