Department: 927 Clarke Ave. West (Battle Centre), Thornhill, ON L4J 8G6 Location: Battle Centre/Day Services/Programs Compensation: CA$19.70 / hour Description The Part-Time Driver is responsible to provide safe and reliable transportation services to individuals, staff, community partners and external stakeholders to utilize the more efficient route to their scheduled drop off and pick ups/ appointment in a timely, efficient and orderly manner. Drivers are also responsible for assisting individuals with tasks and activities such as running errands. They will promote and maintain a high standard of safety and customer service. The ideal candidate must be flexible and available to work Monday to Friday, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week. Note: This posting is for an existing vacancy that is currently open. Usage of Artificial Intelligence We use AI-supported technology to help sort applications according to role-specific criteria, but all decisions throughout the hiring process are made by human reviewers. Key Responsibilities: 1) Main Responsibilities • Transport individuals, staff and community members utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner to their scheduled destination. • Assist the individuals with tasks and activities as required. • Complete daily vehicle pre‐trip and post-trip inspections. • Ensures the health, safety and welfare of the members by operating the vehicle according to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and obeying all traffic rules and regulations. • Determine the most efficient and effective route to the scheduled destination using GPS services. • Provide high-quality customer service • Maintains the cleanliness and operating conditions of the vehicle. • Transport goods and materials to all Reena locations as required. • Reports accidents, damages and any health and safety-related concerns and submits all relevant documentation to the reporting supervisor. 2) Administrative Responsibilities • Follow proper procedures for signing in and out of vehicles and cell phones. • Complete all the required documentation related to the vehicle. • Collect and submit the expense report to the supervisor in a timely manner. • Complete mandatory training. Qualifications: • Valid G license with 3-5 years of driving experience. • Driver’s abstract in good standing • Completion of high school diploma or GED required. • Having F License is an asset. • Previous experience in the development sector is favorable. • Technical knowledge and experience in using digital devices and MS Teams. • Knowledge of road and Ontario traffic rules/laws • Must obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) satisfactory to the employer. • CPR and First Aid certification is an asset • Must be physically able to step up and down steps, safely secure individuals for transport, and transport wheelchair patients on paved and unpaved surfaces • Available to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
