This temporary position is with an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a wide range of assignments. The Board operates 2 administration buildings and 20 schools (18 elementary, 2 secondary) in 13 communities covering 7851 square kilometers for the welfare of 4,580 pupils. For more information visit our web site at: www.rccdsb.ca JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Principal, the Educational Assistant will: Assist in developing and implementing an educational program in an integrated setting, emphasizing Behaviour management Socialization skills Developmental of communication skills Self-help skills Participate in program planning in close co-operation with the home setting and school; Participate in assessment and treatment planning; Maintain accurate daily records; Provide supervision as assigned; and Other related duties. Qualifications 2 or 3 year Community College Diploma in Educational Assistant, Autism and Behaviour Management or Developmental Services Worker or Youth Worker Program, Early Childhood Education, Social Services; 3-5 years of experience in a school setting; and Candidates must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the position. Preferred Assets BMS Training Qualifications and experience with Autism and Behaviour Science Understanding of behaviour management strategies Demonstrated peer leadership in a variety of school settings; experience working with individuals with ADHD/ODD Experience with assistive technology; self-motivated, critical thinking, with proven team skills and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills CLOSING: All interested applicants are invited to submit an updated resume including details of qualifications, experience and professional references. Exigences
Candidates must hold a Community College Diploma in a relevant field such as Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Education. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a school setting and a valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Check are required.
