The Role The Payroll Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of payroll while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll data. Reporting to the HR Manager, the Payroll Administrator works closely with the Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations, maintain data integrity within the HRIS, and assist payroll related reconciliations and reporting. In addition to payroll responsibilities, the Payroll Administrator provides administrative support across a variety of Human Resources functions including onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and other HR administrative activities. This role plays an important part in ensuring continuity of payroll services while contributing to process improvements and ongoing system enhancements. and HR services while contributing to process improvements and ongoing system enhancements. In This Role, You Will: Payroll Administration * Support the bi-weekly processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees. * Review and validate payroll information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and legislative requirements. * Assist with payroll reconciliations, including employee deductions, benefit premiums, RRSP contributions. * Prepare routine payroll-related reports and assist with payroll administration as required. * Process and reconcile employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies. * Maintain payroll data within ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, pay changes, terminations, leaves, and employee updates. * Act as a payroll resource for employees by responding to routine payroll inquiries. * Support payroll process improvements and HRIS initiatives, including system testing, data validation, and implementation activities. Human Resources Administration * Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including initiating employee records, preparing onboarding documentation. * Administer employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. * Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records. * Assist with HR projects and initiatives as assigned. General * Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring: * Post-secondary education in Payroll, Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field. * Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll administration, HR administration, or a combination of both. * Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar payroll/HRIS platform. * Experience supporting payroll processing and employee benefits administration. * Working knowledge of payroll legislation, employment standards, and HR administration practices. * Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is considered an asset. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis (macro knowledge is an asset). * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Customer-service-oriented approach. * Analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * Adaptability and willingness to support changing business needs. * Continuous improvement mindset.
