Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Family Law Legal Assistant role located in Hamilton, ON. The Legal Assistant will support family law files by drafting and formatting legal documents, preparing court materials, and maintaining organized physical and electronic files. Daily tasks include managing calendars, scheduling client meetings and court appearances, coordinating communications with clients, counsel, and court staff, and tracking deadlines. The role involves administrative support such as handling correspondence, answering phone calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and assisting with billing and file opening/closing procedures. The Legal Assistant will work closely with the lawyer to ensure matters progress efficiently, maintain confidentiality, and provide professional, courteous service to all clients. Experience in Family Law is required and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in MS Word, Divorcemate and Zoom are necessary. You must have knowledge of the practices of the Superior Court of Justice Family Division Hamilton and Case Center. Salary to commensurate with experience.
