ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is a growing Quebec-based company operating in a highly specialized, international industry. They are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their legal team and provide practical, business-oriented legal support across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Legal Affairs & Compliance, the successful candidate will play an important role in managing commercial contracts, supporting business operations, and addressing various legal and compliance matters. QUALIFICATIONS Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent); Common Law background is an asset; Excellent English, both written and spoken; professional working French; 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including experience with commercial contracts; Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements; Government contracts experience is an asset; Knowledge of intellectual property and privacy law is an asset. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide legal advice and support to various business functions; Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including confidentiality, service, supply, lease, and other contracts; Support the Business Development team with government tenders and contractual requirements; Prepare contract templates, negotiation guidelines, and other legal tools; Advise Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, and Business Development teams on legal matters; Support international employee mobility, including visa and work permit matters; Work with external legal counsel in Canada and internationally; Support acquisitions, financings, corporate reorganizations, and other strategic initiatives; Assist with legal and regulatory compliance, including privacy and Quebec-specific requirements; Develop and maintain legal policies, processes, templates, and documentation.
