.NET Developer

Overview Our Vancouver-based client is seeking a .NET Developer for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is predominantly remote, though candidates should be based in the Vancouver area and available to attend occasional onsite meetings as required. The successful candidate will support a significant cloud modernization initiative involving the migration of a custom-built development platform from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on application replatforming, containerization, and the ongoing development of microservices-based solutions within a GCP environment. The ideal candidate will have strong .NET development experience, expertise in modern cloud technologies, and a passion for building scalable, resilient applications. Responsibilities Participate in the migration of existing custom-built applications and platforms from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and .NET technologies Support containerization initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes Assist with application replatforming and modernization efforts Develop and enhance microservices-based applications within a GCP environment Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable cloud solutions Build and maintain APIs and backend services that support business-critical applications Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and cloud infrastructure issues Contribute to CI/CD processes and cloud deployment automation Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices Required Qualifications 5+ years of software development experience using C# and .NET/.NET Core Hands-on experience developing and supporting cloud-based applications Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or strong cloud migration experience from Azure to GCP Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services Strong understanding of software design principles and application architecture Experience working in Agile development environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The developer will lead the migration of custom applications from Azure to Google Cloud Platform through replatforming and containerization. They will also design and maintain microservices-based solutions and backend APIs to ensure scalable cloud infrastructure.

Candidates need over 5 years of experience with C# and .NET, along with hands-on expertise in GCP or cloud migration. Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture is essential.
