The Client: Our client is a global food manufacturing company with a diverse portfolio of established consumer brands. The organization operates a large-scale, multi-site manufacturing network and is recognized for its focus on quality, innovation, operational excellence, and delivering high-quality food products to customers. What you will achieve in this role: Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst is accountable for supporting Plant Management through analysis of all operational results for two plants - Mississauga and North York. The individual will ensure high accuracy of all operational and financial reporting related to plant performance and the month-end close process, including insightful and timely analysis, with action-oriented variance reporting, and overall leading-edge financial support. Key Accountabilities: Provide analysis and commentary to financial results (target audience includes Corporate Finance and Plant Operations); Preparation and analysis of key operational and financial reports as part of monthly packages; Standard cost and variance analysis, yield reporting and understanding of bill of materials; Ownership of the item master, standard costing processes and related analysis providing insight into financial impacts and recommendations for better business decision making; Utilities analysis and reporting; Identify opportunities to improve/expand plant reporting to enable better business decisions; Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including, but not limited to bank reconciliations, intercompany invoicing and reconciliation, inventory, capital assets, trade spend and other liability accruals; Prepare ad hoc analysis as required by sales, plant manager, business performance and other departments; Provide recommendations for streamlining existing processes and system to help generate synergies between locations. What you must bring to this role: Pursuing an accounting designation (CPA); 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (food industry is an asset); A diploma/degree in accounting or finance and related account reconciliation experience is required; Proficiency in MS Office applications and advanced knowledge with Excel is required; AS400 knowledge is an asset.
