About the Opportunity Our client is a growing North American infrastructure organization supporting complex, large-scale projects across energy, electrification, utility infrastructure, and multi-site deployment programs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Accountant who enjoys working at the intersection of accounting, project operations, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will take ownership of the full project accounting lifecycle, partnering closely with project managers, operations, procurement, vendors, and finance leadership to improve financial visibility, strengthen project controls, and support continued business growth. This role is well suited to someone who is hands-on, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment where they can help build and improve processes and systems as the organization scales. What You’ll Be Responsible For Manage the full project accounting lifecycle, including project setup, job costing, cost tracking, billing, collections, holdbacks/retainage, reporting, and closeout Prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and project financial reporting Monitor project performance through budget-to-actual analysis, committed costs, margins, and forecast accuracy Support period-end close and the preparation of financial statements and management reports Partner with project managers and operations leaders to identify financial risks, resolve issues, and improve project performance Oversee accounts payable activities, including invoice validation, coding, and vendor payment coordination Support project budgeting, forecasting, and working capital management Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve financial visibility and decision-making Strengthen internal controls, reporting processes, and finance systems as the organization continues to scale Identify opportunities to improve processes across finance and operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What You Bring Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3–5+ years of experience in construction or infrastructure project accounting, supporting single projects and/or multi-site programs CPA designation or actively working toward CPA designation preferred Strong knowledge of job costing, cost codes, commitments, purchase orders, subcontractor invoicing, change orders, holdbacks/retainage, progress billing, WIP, and project closeout Proven experience tracking project margins, budget-to-actual variances, committed costs, and overall project financial performance Strong accounting operations, forecasting, and financial analysis skills Experience in telecommunications and/or construction environments is an asset Experience working with ERP and project management systems; Trimble Spectrum and Procore are preferred Advanced Excel skills Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a high level of professional integrity Comfortable working independently in a remote/hybrid environment while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams Why Consider This Opportunity? Exigences
Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5+ years of experience in construction or infrastructure project accounting. Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and a CPA designation (or progress toward one) is preferred.
