Job Description We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Skilled Concrete Worker to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. In this full-time role, your primary focus will be structural formwork carpentry, layout, and framing. You will work closely with our site supervisors to ensure the structural integrity of our projects before the pour. While placing and finishing skills are a valuable asset, formwork carpentry is the core requirement for this position. Key Responsibilities Formwork Carpentry: Layout, build, erect, and dismantle wood and engineered formwork systems for foundations, walls, footings, and structural slabs. Blueprint Reading: Interpret architectural and engineering drawings to ensure exact dimensions, elevations, and structural alignments. Reinforcement Preparation: Layout and install rebar, wire mesh, anchor bolts, and embedded steel plates according to specifications. Site Layout: Utilize laser levels, transit levels, and string lines to accurately square and level forms. Pour Preparation: Brace and shore formwork securely to withstand the fluid pressure of concrete during placement. Collaboration: Work alongside general labourers and supervisors to ensure formwork is safe, accurate, and ready on schedule. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of proven experience in structural concrete formwork, framing, or commercial carpentry. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with layout math, formwork systems (e.g., traditional wood framing or engineered systems), laser levels, and reading blueprints. Placing & Finishing: Experience with concrete placement, consolidating, and finishing is considered a strong asset but is not the primary focus. License & Transit: Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Full/Non-GDL preferred) and a reliable personal vehicle to commute directly to various local job sites. Physical Fitness: Ability to routinely lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding labor throughout the day. Attributes: Exceptional reliability, strong problem-solving skills, and a safety-first mindset.
