Benefits: Company parties Competitive salary Health insurance Job Overview Rockport Commercial is hiring an experienced Skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for our in-house excavation team. You will work strictly on internal projects (apartments, townhouses, commercial spaces) owned by Rockport Investment Group. We run a small, tight-knit crew. We need a versatile operator who is happy to jump out of the cab and help anywhere on site. You will primarily work in Manitoba, with occasional travel to Calgary. When the Superintendent is away, there is potential for you to run the job site. Key Responsibilities Operate All Equipment: Run excavators, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, and skid steers for grading, trenching, and bulk digging. Help Anywhere: Work flexibly in a small crew. Be willing to step out of the machine to check grades, help with pipes, or do groundwork. Run the Site: Take charge of the crew and daily operations when the Site Superintendent is away. Year-Round Work: Transition to winter earthworks and snow clearing during the off-season. No winter layoffs. Maintenance: Handle daily grease, fluid checks, and pre-trip inspections. Qualifications Site Experience: Proven previous experience working on active construction sites, specifically commercial or multi-family projects. Technical Skill: Ability to read and interpret civil blueprints and manage grade stakes. Leadership: Ability to lead a small crew and run a site independently. Licence: Valid Class 3 or Class 1 Driver’s Licence with air brakes preferred. Clean driver's abstract required. What We Offer Top Pay: High market wages for top-tier talent.
