WHAT YOU WILL DO As an instructor within the School of Health Sciences & Community Services, your responsibilities would include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Interpretation and Advanced ASL. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities. WHAT YOU WILL BRING Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Culture Studies, or a closely related field Native or native-like fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) ASL Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) rating of Level 4 or higher In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, Deaf history, Deaf community values, and the barriers and challenges experienced by Deaf individuals grounded in authentic lived experienced Extensive experience working with ASL-English Interpreters in a variety of settings Excellent interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated leadership skills Strong presentation skills Ability to teach on campus and remotely Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings Strong organizational and time-management skills Strong written communication skills Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement NICE TO HAVE Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction Ability to create assessments that allow students to use AI responsibly and effectively while demonstrating mastery of course content Master's degree in Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Cultural Studies, or a closely related field Experience teaching ASL, Deaf Culture, Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, ASL Linguistics, or related subject areas WHY WORK WITH US At RRC Polytech, we believe our people are our greatest assets. The instructor provides classroom instruction, student evaluation, and academic advising within the ASL-English Interpretation Program. Responsibilities also include maintaining student records and participating in college committees and orientation activities.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field, native-like ASL fluency (ASLPI Level 4+), and lived experience as a Deaf or hard of hearing individual. Extensive experience working with ASL-English interpreters and strong communication skills are required.
