Job details- Full-time, Permanent Location-Calgary, AB Job Overview: The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our branch, ensuring complete set up, efficiency and compliance with company and provincial policies. This role involves managing staff, driving business growth, and enhancing customer service, particularly within the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to operations and client relations. Reports to- President / Owner Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company and provincial policies. Assist with the logistical aspects of setting up the new branch, including equipment and resource allocation. Recruit, train, and mentor staff to maintain high levels of performance and customer service. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to drive branch growth and revenue. Prepare and present accurate and competitive quotations to clients. Manage daily counter sales operations, ensuring exceptional service to customers. Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely and accurate receiving and delivery of products. Conduct regular inventory counts and manage stock levels to optimize operations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fostering a safe working environment. Develop and implement business strategies to expand branch services, with a focus on the oil and gas sector; consult with engineers and electrical contractors. Represent the branch at trade shows and association events, promoting services and networking with potential clients. Organize and deliver presentations and lunch-and-learn sessions to enhance client and staff engagement. Manage procurement for the branch — issue and monitor purchase orders, follow up with vendors on lead times and delivery, and process customer orders in the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), maintaining accurate pricing and item data. Monitor the quote inbox and respond to customer calls, emails, and service requests; manage the sales pipeline in the CRM, keeping opportunities and activity records current, and support growth of the e-commerce business. Provide weekly reporting to the President on sales, quotations, inventory, and branch issues; schedule staff workload, monitor clock-in/clock-out records, and handle general administrative duties. Travel occasionally to head office for meetings. Qualifications and skills: College or University qualification in business, management, electrical or a related field. Proven 5+ years experience in operations management or a similar role in the electrical industry. Strong leadership and team management skills, particularly within the electrical industry. Demonstrated competency with Microsoft office including Outlook, Word, ERP, D365 and CRM. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities. Experience in quality control processes and industry regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability. Working conditions: On site conditions can vary, either working in a trailer on site, walking or on your feet for long periods of time, high levels of noise, weather and temperature can vary depending on season, mainly outdoors.
