About the Company Our client, a reputable law firm in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Class Action Law Clerk to join their growing plaintiff-side litigation team. This is a fully remote, Ontario-based position. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of traditional law clerk skills and experience working on large plaintiff-side matters, including class actions, complex litigation, and/or significant personal injury files. Experience with claims administration, particularly in personal injury or other high-volume plaintiff-side matters, is highly valued. The successful candidate will also be comfortable communicating with individuals who have experienced significant trauma and will approach these interactions with professionalism, empathy, and sensitivity. Responsibilities Draft and prepare court documents, including pleadings, motion records, certification materials, affidavits of documents, and other litigation materials. Provide day-to-day litigation support on complex, document-intensive plaintiff-side matters. Assist with file management, including maintaining litigation calendars, deadlines, limitation periods, and procedural requirements. Coordinate the service and filing of documents with courts, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and other parties. Assist with claims administration, including reviewing and organizing claims, communicating with claimants, maintaining records, and supporting the administration of large-scale plaintiff-side matters. Conduct preliminary legal research and assist with investigation, evidence gathering, and document review. Prepare materials and supporting documentation for examinations, motions, hearings, mediations, and trials. Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, class members, claimants, third parties, and co-counsel, including individuals who may have experienced significant trauma. Assist Lawyers with trial preparation, settlement implementation, and other stages of the litigation process. Manage and organize large volumes of records and information while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Perform other traditional law clerk responsibilities as required to support the litigation team. Requirements Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate from an accredited institution. 3–5+ years of relevant litigation experience, ideally with significant plaintiff-side, class action, complex litigation, or personal injury matters. Strong knowledge of Ontario court procedures and the Rules of Civil Procedure. Experience working on large, complex, or document-intensive litigation files. Experience with claims administration or managing a high volume of claimant/client information is considered a strong asset. Strong understanding of traditional law clerk responsibilities throughout the litigation lifecycle. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing voluminous records, deadlines, and competing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with individuals who have experienced significant trauma with empathy, professionalism, and discretion. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment. Compensation Salary up to $80,000, commensurate with experience.
