As a Junior Sous Chef at Fifty Two, you'll work alongside the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef to deliver exceptional food and unforgettable dining experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills within an Michelin Star kitchen while working with some of the finest seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. You'll play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, supporting service, mentoring junior chefs and ensuring every plate leaves the pass to Michelin Star standards. Hours: 50 hours Shift Pattern: Working Wednesday - Saturday from 12pm to finish and from 2pm - finish on Sundays Key Responsibilities Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in the daily management of the Michelin Star kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Lead your section during preparation and service, consistently delivering dishes to the highest standards of quality, consistency and presentation. Assist in coordinating and managing service, stepping into a leadership role in the absence of senior chefs when required. Supervise, coach and motivate junior members of the team, ensuring they are trained, supported and working to the expected standards. Help maintain exceptional kitchen organisation, cleanliness and discipline at all times. Monitor food quality, portion control, stock rotation and waste to support food cost targets without compromising quality. Manage deliveries, stock control and ordering using the kitchen management systems. Ensure all food safety, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures are followed, promoting a safe working environment for the entire team. Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver an outstanding guest experience. About You You'll be someone who: Has previous experience in a high-quality restaurant, ideally at a Michelin level. Is passionate about delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. Leads by example with professionalism, positivity and attention to detail. Thrives in a fast-paced service and remains calm under pressure. Enjoys developing and mentoring junior chefs. Is organised, reliable, hardworking and committed to continuous improvement. Communicates confidently and works collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
