Rugged Point Coastal Science Observatory (RPCSO) is a coastal research station on the outer coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, near Rugged Point Marine Provincial Park.
RPCSO is deploying Cascadia Sentinel, a multi-domain Earth-systems observatory that unifies atmospheric, oceanic, terrestrial, geomagnetic, ionospheric, hydrological, and environmental sensing on a shared, GNSS-synchronized timebase. The pilot node is being commissioned at the University of Victoria and will stream real-time and historical data through an API from Rugged Point.
The platform serves climate-tech, weather-tech, geospatial AI, hazard-science, and environmental-intelligence organizations that need high-precision, time-aligned, multi-domain environmental data for modeling, prediction, and operational decisions.
RPCSO works with academic, governmental, and industry partners, and operates with respect for the coastal environment and communities of the region.
