Our client, a public organization sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to support large-scale application testing and quality assurance initiatives. Title: Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist Location: Toronto, ON Duration: ~7 months Pay Range: CA$63-68/hour Work Model: Onsite Job Description: Plan, organize, and execute testing efforts for large-scale systems across GUI and non-GUI environments. Develop, review, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scripts, and test cases. Perform functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing. Support specialized testing activities, including load, performance, stress, and accessibility testing. Analyze requirements and system specifications to develop appropriate test scenarios and test data. Identify, investigate, document, and help resolve application defects and technical issues. Perform data validation using SQL and database query tools to support testing and verification activities. Coordinate testing activities with QA leads, IT teams, developers, business stakeholders, and project teams. Support testing throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Participate in Agile and DevOps delivery environments and contribute to continuous quality improvement. Provide guidance on testing strategies, testing tools, resource requirements, and overall QA processes. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production readiness, and release validation activities. Maintain accurate testing documentation, defect records, test results, and status reporting. Apply QA best practices and structured testing methodologies to ensure high-quality system implementations. Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of software quality assurance principles, practices, tools, and structured testing methodologies. Strong experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Experience with functional, non-functional, integration, regression, UAT, load, performance, and accessibility testing. Proficiency with Agile and DevOps methodologies, as well as Waterfall environments. Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud technologies. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps and Micro Focus ALM. Experience with accessibility testing and compliance tools such as AXE and WAVE. Experience with API and web services testing, including ReadyAPI. Knowledge of Java and OPA technologies. Strong SQL and database testing skills, including experience with IMS/DB2, SQL, and Oracle. Experience working with UNIX/Linux environments. Knowledge of .NET platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Experience: 10+ years of experience planning, organizing, and implementing software testing efforts. Extensive experience with test management tools and enterprise QA processes. Experience creating, reviewing, and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts. Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving software defects and issues. Experience working across the full SDLC in complex application environments. Experience with Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall methodologies. Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure. Experience with automated testing tools and enterprise testing environments. Experience supporting UAT and system integration testing. Preferred Experience: Experience with accessibility compliance testing and remediation. Experience with enterprise or public-sector applications. Experience with legacy/mainframe environments and associated testing tools. Experience with payment gateway or transaction-processing systems. Experience with API, web services, and integration testing. Experience with TSO/ISPF or similar mainframe tools. Experience with automated testing frameworks and test data management. Additional Information: This is a senior-level QA/testing position supporting complex enterprise systems. Candidates should have strong hands-on experience across test planning, execution, defect management, integration testing, UAT, and production readiness. Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Micro Focus ALM, SQL/Oracle, API testing, accessibility testing, and Agile/DevOps environments is highly valuable.
