Job ID: 26-21035 Job Title: Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist Location: Toronto, ON/Onsite Duration: 150 Business Days with possible extension Client: Public Sector Pay Rate: CAD $60 - $65 per hour Must have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 7+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, manual testing, and test automation for enterprise applications Proven experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data for complex software systems Strong experience performing functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance (UAT), performance, load, and stress testing Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, UFT (QTP), LoadRunner, or equivalent automation frameworks Experience testing Web APIs and Windows Services using Postman, Swagger, ThunderClient, or similar API testing tools Strong SQL skills with experience performing database validation, backend testing, data integrity checks, and data warehouse testing Experience using HP ALM/HP Quality Center (HPQC), Azure DevOps (TFS), JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar test management and defect tracking tools Experience testing web applications for WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA and AODA compliance, including the use of accessibility tools such as JAWS, NVDA, or similar assistive technologies Experience working across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) within Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments Experience investigating production issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with development teams to resolve defects Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate testing activities across multiple teams Previous experience working with Ontario Public Sector (OPS), Education Sector, or other Public Sector organizations is considered a strong asset. Role and Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data to support enterprise software delivery initiatives Execute manual and automated testing activities, including functional, integration, system, regression, performance, load, stress, and user acceptance testing (UAT) Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, UFT (QTP), LoadRunner, and related automation technologies Perform API and web service testing using Postman, Swagger, ThunderClient, and other API validation tools Execute database validation and backend testing by developing complex SQL queries and validating data integrity, consistency, and transformation across enterprise systems Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using HP ALM/HPQC, Azure DevOps (TFS), JIRA, Bugzilla, or equivalent defect management tools Validate application accessibility and ensure compliance with WCAG AA and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards using assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools Conduct production issue investigations, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project teams to implement effective resolutions Support System Integration Testing (SIT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) while ensuring adherence to organizational testing methodologies and quality standards Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout Agile and Waterfall project lifecycles to ensure successful project delivery and continuous quality improvement Prepare testing documentation, execution reports, quality metrics, release documentation, and knowledge transfer materials while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and best practices If this opportunity matches your experience and career goals, please share your most updated resume for consideration.
