As a Service Center Operations Supervisor at Ryerson, you will be responsible for directing the efficient function of plant operations including but not limited to production equipment, shipping, receiving, receiving and inventory. This position will work Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. Roles And Responsibilities Understands production goals and implements actions necessary to meet objectives Provides leadership to direct reports; coaches and counsels employees Facilities problem solving and team building activities Participates in Performance Management Process (PMP) Carries out and supports company policies, goals and objectives Understands quality goals and implement actions necessary to meet goals and ISO 9000 standards Review plant supply inventory and advise purchasing when levels are low Ensure training is effectively carried out and oversee completion of training checklists Communicates with other departments within the facility, as well as other locations Understand customer requirements, participates, and advise on decisions regarding suitability of material and processing equipment Provide direction and coaching in safe work practices; support safety goals Review unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are carried out to eliminate workplace hazard Follow and enforce CBA and Memorandum of Agreement All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Requirements High School Diploma / GED is required; College Education preferred A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years supervisory experience Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Problem-solving and decision-making skills The successful candidate is expected to develop proficiency in SAP as part of their role. Prior experience is not required, but a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in SAP is essential Ryerson Canada is an Equal Opportunity Employer. A starting salary higher than $60,000 annually is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
