This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, contract management, SAP/ERP systems, and public sector accounting. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial operations, procurement support, contract administration, project auditing, and cost analysis while ensuring compliance with governance, procurement, and accounting standards. This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings in Edmonton, Alberta. Role Overview The Financial Analyst will provide comprehensive support across financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, contract management, project auditing, and financial reporting. This position contributes to operational excellence by ensuring accurate financial records, supporting compliance activities, maintaining project documentation, and delivering analytical insights that support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Budget Management (40%) Prepare monthly financial forecasts using actual expenditures, historical trends, and projected costs. Produce monthly budget reports and analyze spending variances. Prepare accrual entries to support accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting. Monitor project budgets and financial performance. Support governance reporting by providing timely and accurate financial information. Contract & Procurement Administration (25%) Review and validate vendor invoices against contract terms. Process vendor payments using SAP or equivalent ERP systems. Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs). Prepare and maintain Service Entry Sheets (SES) within SAP Ariba/1GX. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and financial controls. Project Auditing & Compliance (20%) Develop and maintain financial and contract process documentation. Support internal and external audit activities. Maintain project records in accordance with records management policies. Respond to audit requests and provide supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with governance, accounting, and procurement standards. Financial Analysis & Cost Modeling (15%) Develop financial models to support budgeting and forecasting. Perform cost analysis and evaluate pricing structures. Analyze financial trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership. Support continuous process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in Edmonton, Alberta, up to four times per year, with reasonable notice provided by the client.
