Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR). Comprehensive Medication Record for Ontarians (CMRO). Medical imaging repositories and initiatives. Primary Care Information Exchange (PCIE). Clinical Data Foundation (CDF). Clinical Viewer initiatives. Electronic Health Record (EHR) contributions. Healthcare information-system upgrades. Privacy operations support. Digitizing Provincial Diagnostic Network initiatives. The role will support healthcare organizations and external stakeholders in preparing, testing, validating, and implementing interfaces that contribute to or consume data from Ontario Health clinical repositories and digital-health assets. Key responsibilities Clinical data conformance and integration Act as a Clinical Data Conformance & Integration Specialist for healthcare data-adoption and integration projects. Work directly with Senior Project Managers, Product Teams, clinical subject matter experts, external clients, healthcare organizations, and implementation partners. Provide expert oversight and subject-matter expertise for HL7 v2 and HL7 FHIR standards. Review and evaluate patient, admission-discharge-transfer, laboratory, clinical, medication, and other healthcare data. Assess whether contributed data is compliant, complete, accurate, conformant, and ready for submission. Support data acquisition, integration, contribution, consumption, validation, and adoption activities. Apply healthcare interoperability standards to support reliable exchange of clinical information. Advise organizations on the technical and clinical requirements for contributing data to Ontario Health repositories. Support the implementation and integration of healthcare data across clinical systems and provincial assets. HL7 and FHIR standards expertise Provide expert guidance on HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR, CDA, XML messaging, implementation guides, and related healthcare interoperability standards. Review HL7 messages and FHIR resources for structure, content, completeness, conformance, and business-rule compliance. Interpret Ontario Health EHR input specifications and FHIR implementation guides. Assess the conformance of external interfaces and data submissions against required standards. Identify message, mapping, terminology, formatting, data-quality, and structural issues. Recommend corrective actions and guide stakeholders through resolution. Support HL7 v2 and FHIR implementation, validation, testing, and readiness activities. Apply knowledge of implementation guides from multiple standards-development organizations. Data contribution and repository readiness Manage simultaneous work packages for healthcare data-contribution projects. Determine whether data submissions are ready for Ontario Health EHR repositories and clinical assets. Validate contributed data against HL7 v2, FHIR, XML, Ontario Health, and applicable implementation-guide requirements. Review source-system output, message structures, data elements, mappings, workflows, and interface behavior. Confirm data readiness before production contribution or consumption. Track conformance issues, remediation activities, dependencies, decisions, risks, and readiness status. Prepare recommendations regarding data compliance, quality, conformance, and implementation readiness. Support data adoption activities across multiple healthcare organizations and clinical domains. Interface and integration support Evaluate local interfaces developed by external clients, healthcare organizations, and implementation partners. Provide technical guidance on interface design, messaging, testing, transformation, and data exchange. Work with integration engines and interface technologies to assess message flows and integration behavior. Support interfaces connecting hospital information systems, laboratory systems, electronic medical records, pharmacy systems, clinical viewers, and other healthcare applications. Review data flows between source systems and Ontario Health repositories. Identify integration defects, message-processing problems, transformation issues, and conformance gaps. Coordinate with technical teams to resolve interface and data-exchange issues. Support the transition from testing and validation to production readiness. Conformance testing and validation Plan, coordinate, and perform HL7 standards-based message conformance testing. Validate HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR, CDA, and XML messages and resources. Use conformance and validation tools such as Caristix, XMLSpy, 7Edit, Postman, or comparable tools. Develop or use test cases, test data, validation scenarios, message profiles, and expected outcomes. Review test results and document failures, exceptions, deviations, and remediation requirements. Support technical teams in correcting messages and re-testing interfaces. Perform readiness assessments for data contribution and repository integration. Develop testing tools, templates, guides, checklists, and supporting materials for data conformance and quality. Maintain evidence of validation, test outcomes, approvals, and readiness decisions. Project and work-package management Deliver assigned project tasks and key work packages within complex healthcare data-integration initiatives. Plan and coordinate activities, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables. Manage multiple concurrent work packages with a medium-to-high level of autonomy. Provide progress updates to Senior Project Managers, Product Teams, Leads, and management. Escalate risks, blockers, scope concerns, and readiness issues in a timely manner. Support project planning, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and implementation activities. Stakeholder and client engagement Act as a senior specialist for external clients, stakeholders, partners, data sources, and healthcare organizations. Explain Ontario Health conformance, validation, data-acquisition, and integration requirements to technical teams and clinical SMEs. Facilitate meetings, working sessions, technical reviews, testing sessions, and issue-resolution discussions.
