The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in application architecture, integration design, cloud solutions, and enterprise application modernization within large-scale distributed environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise application architectures, with strong expertise in Azure/AWS cloud platforms, MuleSoft or similar integration technologies, Java, Microsoft .NET, REST APIs, databases, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise architecture practices. Experience supporting large government applications and Ontario Public Sector environments is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Application Architecture & Solution Design (40%) Define and develop application architecture solutions for large-scale distributed enterprise environments. Design application structures, reusable components, interfaces, and integration patterns. Develop application models, architecture diagrams, technical designs, and documentation. Define relationships between applications, databases, middleware platforms, and enterprise services. Design scalable, secure, and maintainable application solutions aligned with business and technology objectives. Analyze system interactions across multiple application layers and define technical requirements and limitations. Support application modernization initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments. Cloud, Integration & Technical Architecture (40%) Design and implement cloud-based application architectures using platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS. Develop hybrid integration solutions connecting on-premises and cloud environments using MuleSoft or similar middleware technologies. Design and support REST API integrations, web applications, and lightweight applications. Provide technical expertise across: Java and Microsoft .NET technologies .NET Core and Entity Framework Web API development Azure SQL and cloud databases SQL Server and Oracle databases Structured and unstructured cloud data solutions Azure Blob Storage and Cosmos DB Support DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation. Evaluate performance, scalability, security, and operational considerations across application environments. Enterprise Architecture & Delivery Support (20%) Develop enterprise architecture deliverables, including application models and technical documentation. Apply structured methodologies for application design, development, and implementation. Support Agile delivery teams through architecture guidance and technical decision-making. Collaborate with developers, solution architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Prepare architecture documentation, technical assessments, reports, and recommendations. Communicate complex technical designs in a clear and understandable manner. Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, security practices, and governance requirements.
