Position Summary We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our People Team for a 14-month maternity leave coverage. This role will report to the Senior Director, People Team and support various strategic people programs, policies, and talent development of our people while achieving business objectives. You will also provide ongoing and hands-on guidance to leaders on developing and engaging high-performance teams. What We Offer: • Competitive Salary • Employer Paid Flexible Health Coverage from day one • Employee Purchase Program (discounts!) • Free onsite gym, showers and bike storage room • Lunch subsidy programs with select local vendors Role and Responsibilities * Provide HR guidance, partnership and support to Vancouver R&D leaders and employees * Serve as an initial point of contact for diverse, employee-related inquiries and be able to escalate and prioritize critical matters as needed * Work closely with the Senior Director, People Team in developing and implementing HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with business priorities * Support and provide guidance on Canadian immigration requirements, PR support documentation and Work Permit applications * Participate in workplace compliance, employee relations and investigation matters * Provide co-op recruitment support * Provide input and support for learning and development initiatives * Support the People Team with projects, processes and programs that enhance employee engagement and retention * Play a key role in supporting and organizing internal and external events * Manage special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas, as business needs arise * Provide remote support to the Toronto and Montreal AI sites as needed * Contribute and positively impact the ongoing culture; be a key driver of ongoing engagement within the site Skills and Qualifications * 5 years of progressive experience in human resources and at least 3 years of prior experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist supporting technical teams (preferred) * Bachelor’s degree specializing in Human Resources Management * CPHR designation is an asset * Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with proven skills in communication, relationship-building and influencing best practices * Successful in supporting effective and positive employee relations, retention, and reward programs * Ability to handle strictly confidential information * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously * Creative and collaborative; team oriented * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail * Self-motivated and able to work independently * Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to support the team The salary range for this role is expected to be between $80,000 to $100,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience. Exigences
Candidates must have at least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 3 years supporting technical teams. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management is required, and a CPHR designation is considered an asset.
