Posting Number: T7-4051398 - Round 1 - ongoing until filled Description: District Indigenous Education Counsellor, Grades K-12 Location: District position (Cranbrook & Elk Valley) Contract Type: Full-time Continuing (1.0 FTE) Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. Benefits: We offer a competitive benefits package and pension. Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay). Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting. Job Summary District Indigenous Education Counsellor, Grades K-12 1.0 FTE continuing contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process. Must have a Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling or Psychology. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the K-12 level. It would be considered an asset to have training/experience in Indigenous ways of being and health. Preference will be given to Persons of Indigenous Ancestry. This is a District position, and will support all of the communities within School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).
