Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting. Job Summary District Indigenous Education Counsellor, Grades K-12 1.0 FTE continuing contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process. Must have a Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling or Psychology. Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the K-12 level. It would be considered an asset to have training/experience in Indigenous ways of being and health. Preference will be given to Persons of Indigenous Ancestry. This is a District position, and will support all of the communities within School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay). The District Indigenous Education Counsellor will support Indigenous students across grades K-12 within the district. This role involves providing counselling and educational support tailored to the needs of Indigenous communities.

Candidates must have a Master's Degree recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch in Counselling, Psychology in Counselling, or Psychology. Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification and experience in Indigenous education.
