CYES 26-27.008 Elementary Teacher CAYOOSH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1.0 FTE Continuing – Intermediate (Grade to be determined) Posting Open Date: August 20, 2026 Posting Close Date: August 28, 2026, 4:00 p.m. enrols approximately 170 students in Grades 4 through 7, of which 62% are of Indigenous ancestry. Cayoosh Elementary is located in thewhich lies on the unceded and traditional territory of the St'at'imc First Peoples. The school'sguides the work of the school. Requirements And Qualifications The successful applicant must have or be eligible for certification to teach in British Columbia and possess: Qualifications and/or experience in the teaching area/grade level posted; Knowledge of the BC curriculum and competencies; Strong assessment practices, including assessment as and for learning; Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum, or familiarity with and understanding of local Indigenous culture and commitment to integrate it into the curriculum; The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to accommodate the learning needs of all students; Successful experience integrating experiential, on-the-land and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum; A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills; A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting; A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum; The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community. The salary range for full-time teaching positions within Gold Trail School District is $63,735 to $116,190, with placement in accordance with provisions in the Collective Agreement. The district offers a competitive benefits and pension package. This position is eligible for a pre-employment hiring incentive of $5000 in return for a successful candidate accepting a job offer for this position. Note: Candidates are not eligible for the above if they were previously paid a pre-employment hiring incentive for a teaching position in the K-12 sector (in the 2023/2025, 2025/2025 or 2025/2026 school years under the provincial hiring incentives program.
