This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast. Don't have your Advanced Security Training (AST) certification yet? Selected candidates who hold a valid BC Security Worker Licence may be eligible for AST sponsorship through Securiguard. Location: Departure Bay & Duke Point, Nanaimo, BC Pay Rate: $25.75 /hr The Day To Day Ensure the safety and security of onboard vessels Monitoring for suspicious activity through static patrols to ensure the safety and security of passengers, staff, and assets Responding to incidents, including disturbance, safety concerns and emergencies, while following established procedures and use-of-force guidelines where applicable. Act as a visible and proactive security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections Operate communication tools such as radios and escalate incidents as necessary Manage high-pressure situations with professionalism, sound judgment, and a calm demeanor Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards Support passenger safety and satisfaction during coast-to-coast travel What You Bring Valid BC Security Worker Licence – required. Advanced Security Training (AST) is preferred; however, AST sponsorship may be available for selected candidates. OFA Intermediate (OFA 2) is required Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset Excellent communication skills Comfortable with radio communication Ability to write reports on job-related activities Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions Punctuality and reliability Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8+ hours Who We Are At Securiguard we believe in living and acting by our values: R.E.A.C.H.
