Securicare is seeking a Healthcare Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator to support our healthcare security operations across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) sites in Metro Vancouver. In this role, you will act as the central communication hub, monitoring security systems, coordinating incident response, and supporting frontline staff to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position is critical in a fast-paced healthcare setting where timely decision-making, situational awareness, and clear communication are essential. Duties & Responsibilities Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls related to security incidents, medical emergencies, and patient-related concerns Monitor CCTV, access control, fire and life safety systems, and alarms to detect and respond to security risks Dispatch security personnel and coordinate responses to incidents across healthcare sites Act as the central point of contact between security teams, clinical staff, and external emergency services Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all incidents, calls, and dispatch activities Support frontline staff during high-risk situations, including patient escalation, behavioral incidents, and emergencies Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and external agencies during critical situations Assist in coordinating emergency responses, including lockdowns, evacuations, and medical events Generate reports on incidents, response times, and operational activities for leadership review Ensure compliance with site protocols, post orders, and healthcare safety standards Requirements Valid BC Security Worker Licence (SWL) Minimum of 1 year experience as a Security Guard and 6 months experience as a control room operator/dispatcher preferably in a healthcare or security environment. Experience working in healthcare or similar fast-paced environments is strongly preferred Strong understanding of patient safety, incident response, and emergency procedures Experience monitoring CCTV, access control, and fire/life safety systems Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clinical teams and staff. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (MORB) is an asset. Proficiency in using dispatch software and communication systems, such as two-way radios, telephone systems, and computer-aided dispatch software Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in report writing and documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security systems (e.g., TrackTik or dispatch software) Strong typing skills 40+WPM (ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously) Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure What's In It For You Fun Events Year-Round: From big celebrations to small get-togethers, we love finding reasons to celebrate.
