This position requires eligibility for a TN visa (i.e., Canadian citizenship) because it is located in Auburn Hills, MI. We are seeking a Junior Automotive Designer to support the design and development of automotive components and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Engineering graduate with automotive co-op/internship experience and hands-on exposure to CAD and mechanical design through academic projects or previous experience. Responsibilities Support the design and development of automotive components from concept through production. Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings. Assist with design reviews, engineering changes, and documentation. Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and vehicle integration activities. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams. Assist in identifying and resolving design and vehicle-related issues. Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and BOMs. Apply GD&T, engineering standards, and design best practices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. Recent graduate or 0–2 years of engineering/design experience. Previous automotive co-op, internship, or student work experience strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with CAD/design, gained through professional, co-op, or university projects. Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent. Basic understanding of mechanical design, GD&T, materials, and manufacturing processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented automotive environment. This position requires eligibility for a TN visa (i.e., Canadian citizenship) because it is located in Auburn Hills, MI. Preferred: Automotive design or vehicle development project experience. Experience with CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or Teamcenter. Exposure to automotive OEM or Tier 1 engineering environments. Familiarity with engineering change management and product development processes.
