Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Network Deployment Engineer to provide onsite Smart Hands support for Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) installation and SD-WAN replacement activities. This is a freelance, ticket-based opportunity ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in enterprise network deployments. Key Responsibilities Stage and prepare network equipment before deployment. Rack, install, and cable Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs). Perform power, fiber, and Ethernet cross-connects. Verify switch port availability and physical connectivity. Install SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet cables. Support remote engineers during implementation and cutover activities. Validate installations and troubleshoot basic connectivity issues. Remove, package, and label legacy network equipment when required. Provide site updates, documentation, and completion photos. Required Skills Hands-on experience with Rack & Stack activities. Cisco WLC installation and deployment experience. Fiber optic and Ethernet cabling. Smart Hands / Remote Hands support. Basic network troubleshooting. Experience working in enterprise data center or network environments. Required Tools Standard technician toolkit. Laptop with PuTTY and TFTP Server installed. Console cable (USB-A to USB-B). Ethernet and crossover cables. USB/Thumb drive. Mobile internet hotspot or Wi-Fi access. Label maker. 6-foot ladder. Why Join Sharp Brains?
