Shaw Construction is hiring a Self Perform Surveyor to support our Self Perform Concrete and Framing operations across the Colorado Front Range / Mountain Region. This role covers layout, staking, and formwork verification, along with quality control and quantity take-off support from early estimating through construction close-out — a great fit for someone who wants variety across office and field work on large, complex commercial projects. What You'll Do Perform concrete layout, staking, and formwork verification, plus general project layout and QC compliance checks Calculate points and load Trimble stations; set control using AutoCAD; coordinate embed, hold-down, and penetration layout Support estimating with quantity take-offs, constructability reviews, and scope coordination Coordinate Concrete Lift Drawings and formwork design planning with key trades (Geotech, civil, steel, framing, masonry) Perform routine field inspections during construction to support the QA/QC program Utilize robotic total stations, optical/digital levels, GPS equipment, and data collectors Document and address quality issues promptly, and communicate across the project team — PMs, PEs, subcontractors, and inspectors Train and mentor Shaw team members and concrete/framing crew as needed Collaborate with Shaw's BIM and Framing Panel Design departments as needed What We're Looking For Associate degree in surveying (minimum); Bachelor's in land surveying or civil engineering preferred 5+ years of surveying experience Solid working knowledge of concrete systems, formwork, and shoring Comfortable with AutoCAD, Trimble Access/Business Center; Civil 3D or MicroStation a plus Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or BIM360 a plus Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required) State Licensure (FS/PS) a plus GPS experience a plus Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 a bonus) Physical ability to climb stairs/ladders, work on active construction sites, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs Pay: $80,000 – $90,000/year, depending on experience and licensure

Perform concrete layout, staking, and formwork verification while ensuring quality control compliance on large commercial projects. Coordinate with various trades and departments to support estimating, constructability reviews, and project close-out.

Requires at least an associate degree in surveying and 5+ years of experience with a strong knowledge of concrete systems and AutoCAD. Must possess a valid driver's license and OSHA 10 certification.
